Offhand, I say you're not going to get anything to work. You seem to lack everything or have 1/2 of a typical setup but the 1/2 seems not to be. As i see, the FAX side of any m/f printer needs that telco setup. If you receive eFaxes then you need to dump to a printer, regardless if m/f or not. The eFax side of things should be explained during the setup as to how it works. Its more than a text msg. being dumped to the printer. But, you can't do that automatically when you receive that eFax as I've known them to arrive. Now, if some broadband setup is at your home, I lack that knowledge to say there maybe a solution on that side of things. Once, you get into special setups, etc., some outfit has to provide the kit or necessary items to get things done(?).

I have a Brother MFC-490CW. I have it hooked up directly to my router. I see lots of online services for internet faxing that sends faxes as attachments to your email instead of a fax machine. But I HAVE a fax machine - I just don't have any landlines in my house (only cell phones). Is there any way to send and receive faxes over the internet to my actual fax machine? Any software out there that does this or services that will give a fax number to me that will just send it to my fax?
Or is there a cheap fax line that you can buy from phone companies if I don't need it to carry voice?
- Starting my own business on the cheap b/c I'm broke.
