Can you replace a 17 inch motherboard with a 15 inch MB?

I have a Acer Aspire F5-771 17 Inch. I spilled coffee on it and the mainboard is dead. Have taken it to a number of repair shops, they all said it can't be repair. I look online and seen a few boards that look more or less the same. Acer Aspire E5-575 15.6. They look the same, same keyboard and layout look the same. Can this work if i just replace the mainboard? Thanks for any help.

Re: replace motherboard

I expect it won't fit. Wrong size, wrong place for ports.

The left and right ports won't match with the laptop body. seems to be typical in the cost if you can find the right board.

HERE you did NOT supply the full model number so there is no hope anyone can find a replacement motherboard for you.

Laptops don't have standard size motherboards

like desktops. The motherboards are designed with the case. You will have to get the same motherboard from Acer.
