Question

Can you play media on repeat?

by dsully0351 / May 22, 2014 12:17 AM PDT

I would like to use the Smart Share to access media on a DLNA server and play it on a loop. My question is, is there a "repeat" checkbox when you play a video file?

Specifically I am looking at the 65LB6300, but I'm sure any LG smart TV with Smart Share would be similar.

I have a non-smart tv and it does have the repeat check box for usb media.

A little vague so I'll share the most common workaround.

Make a playlist with one item and repeat that 100+ times.

On my Vizio at home, I can access my NAS that has a media server built in. Just like accessing a USB drive, I get a list of folders on my shared NAS and can browse for video files and play them. But I can't repeat.

I know this tv will access a media server, I was hoping somebody with one handy could see if there is a repeat option when you play media in this way.

My company is wanting to use this as a multimedia bulletin board by creating slides, displays, text, etc and making it into a video file then play it for a few days/a week/whatever.

Well, the most common workaround when it does not have a repeat. There are signage models of the TV with support staff (remember I don't work for LG) so they do support a lot more than what you find in the consumer models.

I do have a question though. If the maker is not answering your calls (phone, net, email) maybe another maker should be considered?
