For a great sound quality you need to have both pairs.. a good cd player and a good set of phones..
Look into maybe a set of bose, or seinheiser Earmuffs..
But you have to remember the sky is the limit. You can get Earphones that use tube style pre amps and it will sound as full as you can imagine. "But" The earphones only put out what it gets in.
As for the Cd player. I haven't seen or heard any on the market that really catches an ear.. due to technology and the obsolete technology because of mp3
From my experience Minidisc players from sony sound awesome. and the ipod is ok..
i'd recomend instead of goin CD, buy a decent MP3 player and store the music on it in a high bit rate. around 160-320 the higher you go the more space it will take, and clearer it will sound. A digital created Mp3 can surpase the quality of a CD if encoded correctly.
A combination of a nice Mp3 player with at least 20gb and a collection of you fav CD's encoded around 256 plus a set of Ear muff style earphones would bring you to the newest technology, and won't be that expensive. as you said b4.. 300-500 bux you have to spend.. i think you would be happy with this investment.
Hi!
Recently, I purchased a portable cd player and got
a headset to go with it. I was told I would get a
great sound. Well, was I disappointed with the lack
of a full sound. The cd player cost around $22.00
and the headphones were under $10.00. Money is no
problem. I don't mind paying $300 to $500 for a cd sound system. I just want to lay down on my bed, put a
pair of earmuff type headphones on and listen to quite
restful music. But the sound must be full, like
I'm right in the middle of all this beautiful music.
I was told later that the cd player should have an
equalizer. Can you get a portable cd player with an
equalizer? Or would I have to go to a larger non-
portable unit? Bottom line, I just want a great sound
when I put on my headphones. Any suggestions?
