Hi, Rick.

Don't have the next line, but I think it's from "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin (the lyric also fits the rhythm of Carole King's "It's too late," but the lyric doesn't fit the song's story AIR).

And the Cat's in the Cradle with the silver spoon,
the little boy blue and the man in the moon
When ya' comin' home dad, I don't know when
but we'll get together then son,
I know we'll have a good time then.

I don't remember all the words, but this was a song that another girl and I sang together at a high school function - way, way back when Happy

It's a rather sad song - about a father and son; they never seem to be able to connect. Like father / like son. No time for you - then it's too late to make up for the past. Sad

Ahhhhh.......memories Happy

P.S. Only 21 days until I leave for my trip to Las Vegas HappyHappy I've been practicing with my new camera.

Where are you staying

In reply to: Re: Can you follow the lyrics??? (and name the artist)

I've been to Vegas a couple of times. If you are staying on the strip make sure you take a trip downtown to Freemont street, tell the cab to take you to Binions (been yons) it's the covered street with the light show and the gambling odds re better and the drinks cheaper.

enjoy

Staying at the Bellagio for 7 nights.
I would never have been able to afford this, but I won a Microsoft sweepstakes - Mr. Gates is pickin' up the tab Happy

I've heard about Binions and plan to experience that as well.

It will be a wonderful time.

You must have missed it when I was sharing about my good fortune to win this photography tour sweepstakes, Rick. It is going to be so full of stuff for the 7 days that I will be exhausted by the time I get home! A quick summary:
--7 nights in Vegas (we chose the Bellagio because it is fancy and expensive and I've never been to Vegas)
--2 Vegas shows of my choice (seeing "O", and ZZ Top Happy )
--10 hour tour of Grand Canyon that includes helicopter ride and boat ride.
--3-4 half-day trips that include Hoover Dam, Rainbow Canyon, Red Rock Vistas, and some other places.
--Helicopter tour over Vegas at night (I have never been in one)
--I already got the camera: Fuji Finepix S7000.
--A ton of software
--$1,000 spending money

I think that's about it Happy
We leave the 24th.
I'm pretty excited about the whole thing as you can tell. Thanks for asking about it.

So much like a man I just had to say,
Son I'm proud of you, can you sit for a while?
He shook his head, and he said with a smile,
What I'd really like Dad is to borrow the car keys.
See you later. Can I have them please?

~Harry Chapin

Heard just the other day on the radio, brings back lots of memories as a song playing in the background during quite a few of my life's passages.

What about this one?

"When you walked into the room, there was doodoo in your eyes... doo doodoodoo doooo doo, doo doodoodoo doooo doo."

And I still say that that it's "wrapped up like a ******" in "Blinded By the Light."

When you walked into the room
There was voodoo in the vibes
I was captured by your style
But I could not catch your eyes
Now I stand here helplessly
Hoping you'll get into me

I am so into you
I can't think of nothing else
I am so into you
I can't think of nothing else

Thinking how it's going to be
Whenever I get you next to me
It's gonna be good, dont you know
From your head to your toe
Gonna love you all over, over and over
Me into you, you into me, me into you

I am so into you
I am so into you, ooh

When you walked into the room
There was voodoo in the vibes
I was captured by your style
But I could not catch your eyes
Now I stand here helplessly
Hoping you'll get into me

I am so into you
I can't get to nothing else
I am so into you baby
I can't get to nothing else
No no no come on baby
I am so into you
Love the things you do

Listen baby
Driving me crazy, oooh
Come on baby, oo-ooh
I am so into you
Love the things you do
Come on baby
I am so into you (x3)

And it really IS *DEUCE*, DavE Wink

I always thought it was DE's lyrics. I thought the Angry Young Man in the Styx song was seeing the world through his "city cool eyes" whatever in heck those would be! My favorite is the made up fake lyrics. Hold me close young Tony Danza!! Happy
