Question

Can you find a better custom laptop seller in Europe?

by Nikkei-88 / December 7, 2014 7:17 AM PST

everywhere I looked for a
15''
i7-4710MQ
8GB RAM
250GB SSD
GTX 860M
I get around 1100€

and for the same with a GTX 970M, maybe with 16GB RAM,
I get around 1500€

Do you know any seller that can do better?

Thank you! (shipping in France!)

Let's go for the green across the board.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/MSI-GT72-GTX-980M-Notebook-Review-Update.129053.0.html is a 980M GPU and shows all green at all settings in the games tested.

Your prior post was asking for a laptop to get some future proofing but I don't think there is such a beast yet.

Try http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-980M.126692.0.html and click on the 970M link and you may find machines with that you can check reviews on each machine.

The 860M is at http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-860M.107794.0.html but you see some games are in red at ultra settings so is the 2 to 3 year plan off the table?

could you help me decide between these 3?

In reply to: Custom Laptop

I'm very interested in buying once of these:

A) Acer Aspire V17 Nitro (VN7-791G-759Q) = 1200€ well reviewed as one of the best Gaming Notebook as of December 2014, but it lacks a completely SSD based storage and it is a 17''

B) HAZE-15 = 1180€ with this configuration is an incognita in the reviews with no noticeable differences from Vortex (15'' i7-4710MQ, 8GB RAM, 250GB SSD, GTX 860M)
C) Vortex IV LE = 1080€ with this configuration is an incognita in the reviews

Haze and Vortex are interesting, but I have no idea how good is the case, touchpad (for which i care a lot), I don't know anything beside the hardware specifics...

Any suggestions?

Just by what looks to be no names alone.

The last two have never been seen around here. CNET has an article on the Nitro but why is SSD an issue? That is something we could change in under 20 minutes (not counting the time to clone.)

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
