My bet is the USB C hub's HDMI would perform worse than the laptop's HDMI port. So I'd never do this.
But if you want to take the speed hit because it's cleaner and you are playing videos (not games) then why not?
I have a asus gl503 vm with USB Type C (1st gen). I am buying a usb type c hub to have a clean setup and it has a hdmi port. So my question is that if i connect the hub to laptop through usb c and than use hdmi port on the hub to connect to monitor with hdmi(it will be a hdmi to hdmi connection between hub and monitor). So is it possible?
