Resolved Question

can u help with Advanced Care and AVG please

Aug 17, 2011 3:52AM PDT

I have used both the above for over 2 years. all of a sudden. AVG massively slows my laptop when updating/scanning. Advanced System Care seems to suddenly wish to remain on D. This has NEVER happened before. Can someone please advise me? I cannot afford all kinds of fix its so there needs to be a free solution. I also am not very tech savvy so please be clear on instructions LOL Thank you in advance Happy

First let's cover why.

Remember there are more pests everyday to be scanned for. So to find them all will take longer and longer and now it's reached a point that your machine is spending more time looking for the pests that it has become a problem.

Why not change to something like NOD32 since it is known to have a lighter impact on older systems?

Not quite sure what that is. I am on a DELL Lattitude D800 rebuild (myself) my tsch knowledge is not good. All was working fine till a few days ago. I have tried everything and for some reason both those programs suddenly want to slow up and/or run inefficiently. Again, I am not in a financial place to be able to purchase fix its. Please be more specific in your answers Thank you.

Here's how it works.

When we write about a title such as NOD32 we let the members do a little work such as google or such because the forums are all volunteer.

It's like you have a flat tire and someone stops to assist. If you point to the flat and then get back into your car to wait for the job to get done without pitching in then the help may do the same.

Hope this helps you understand these member to member forums better.

If you can't afford NOD32 I suggest you uninstall AVG and try another free antivirus as there are many to choose from today.
