Can two bluetooth headsets work at the same time?

I'm taking a trip to Mexico with my girlfriend and planning on taking my laptop that has bluetooth capability. I have two bluetooth headsets and would like to watch a DVD on the flight while we both listen using the bluetooth headphones. Is this possible? can two bluetooth headsets be synked up to the same audio stream?

I've tried to pair both headsets to work at the same time but can only get one to work at a time.

If anyone can offer help it would be greatly appreciated!
