Can't Write Knoppix 5.1/Live CD ISO (Image)

by caxtin1 / May 2, 2007 7:13 AM PDT

I tried to write the ISO file to a DVD and it kept giving me errors:

FOREIGN IMAGE FILE
The entered block size does not correspond to teh image length.
The block size may be wrong. Do you want to correct teh value
or ignore the problem?
IGNORE or CORRECT

When I go to correct it, I don't know what to "correct".

I am using Nero 6 Ultra Edition (with new update).

Is there a utility out there like the CDBurnerXP Pro utility for DVD?
DVDShrink won't work.

Thanks in advance.

In reply to: LInk only.

Proffitt, thanks for the information. I wrote the ISO, tried it and still very overwhelmed with all its contents. The CDBurnerXP Pro wrote the DVD smoothly with the ISO file.

I wish there is a way I could have a list of all the contents on the disc and what they are for. At the moment, I take some time to open them one by one.

Linux is really awesome.

Thanks again for all your help.

Sorry to have given only a short answer when you did such a nice job of supplying details but I see you took my one line reply and got it done.

Enjoy.

Linux OS Download?
by caxtin1 / May 4, 2007 11:31 AM PDT

With the Knoppix 5.1 DVD at hand, what is, and where can I download the latest Linus OS to install on a computer. I plan on doing a dual boot so I can really get more to Linux. I know there are lots of different Linux OS out there. I would prefere one closest to the Knoppix 5.1 LiveCD. Thanks again.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
