I've used what they call a LIVECD for years to fix such things. About 6 years ago I used Knoppix (read http://tips.oncomputers.info/archives2004/0401/2004-Jan-11.htm ) and today I'll boot Ubuntu from CD without installing Ubuntu I can copy files and more.

Hi all,
Before creating any user in my TS419P NAS, I copied some software folders to the NAS public folder, these folders contains files with extensions like .cab and etc.
After that, I created a user Andre, with a corresponding Andre share folder, and added Andre to the admin group; re-logged into the NAS ?Andre`s folder? without any problems.
Then, I tried moving the folder/files from the public folder to the Andre folder?.impossible, I can`t move or delete JUST SOME files.
I`ve checked these files security tabs, their owner is the ?guest?, with read only attributes, it`s clear a files ownership issue.
Problems:
1) Even logged in as Andre or admin (it should be the same thing, as Andre is an admin), I can`t grant full access to these files to Andre, or to ?everyone?, nothing works, I receive different messages saying that I can`t do that.
2) I can`t also transfer the files ownsership from guest to Andre or admin, even logged into the NAS as admin.
I have tried the freefile software, it also says I can`t do anything with the file.
I have installed the Unlocker.exe software, but it seems that it doesn`t work in W7 64-bit.
I have tried rebooting in safe mode, also didn`t work.
I can`t understand, please help me, it`s annoying.
Thanks,
ZM
