I helped a friend fix that. For some odd reason they had the firewall enabled on the Apple. At least that was easy.
Hi,
I am unable to ssh from my new imac to remotely login to computers that my old powerbook is able to connect to using the same network. I know that there is no problem on the receiving end as I have had a number of conversations with IT team whi say my computer is not blocked and that they have no record of an attempt to remotely login from the ip address of my computer. When I try to ssh from my imac to any address I consistently receive the message port 22: connection refused. This message pops up instantly as if terminal isn't even attempting to connect. I suspect that there are some security settings on my imac, perhaps involving the firewall that are preventing me from sshing but I do not know what these settings might located or how I might change them. Any insights are much appreciated!
Thanks!
