I had trouble seeing my Win2000 and WinXP public folders from the new Vista system. It turned out to be a firewall that was enabled by the trial version of Norton Antivirus. As soon as I disabled the Norton firewall, all my systems became visible and I had no trouble copying files and sharing printers between the three.
I have recently upgraded to Vista Ultimate on a HP Media Centre PC (m7377a), and all is working great EXCEPT I can't see any other PC's on my home network (i.e. the Vista PC cannot see or be seen). All this was working fine when all PC's were strictly XP Pro.
I can still "see" my laptop from the other XP desktop, and vice versa, but neither of these can see the Vista...
I have tried all recommended troubleshooting, and even "removed" the network settings and re-instated, but no good.
I have updtaed all drivers on the HP box to Vista versions.
Has anybody else experienced this, and how did you fix?
