can't save to Flash Drive

Oct 17, 2006 12:21AM PDT

Howdy,
Using both Windows XP at home and 2000 at work, I am unable to save stuff to my Cruzer flash drive, due to a "file permission error." The flash drive is not full.
What's a "file permission error" and how can I fix this?
Thanks.

If I write protect the drive (mine has a slide switch) or the file is read-only.

Another issue is how many files that can be in the ROOT or F:\ directory. Only so many are allowed.

File permission error

There's no side or other switch on the drive, and I don't know how to fix the other part of what you're talking about. this just ocurred, so it might be what you indicated (the number of files) but what good is a flash drive w/room if you can't save stuff?
If you're right, how can I fix this?
Thanks.

Fix. Delete a few files then make a sub directory.

I had the same problem. so I backed up all my files to my hard disk and formatted the pendrive. then I sent the files back to my pendrive and it worked! try that.
