Can't save file in jpg format from my web browser

Sep 25, 2004 10:29PM PDT

This problem just happened recently to my windows XP. When I right click to save a picture in my web browser, it will be saved as a .bmp format even though the picture original format is a .jpg. Previously I do not encounter this problem before. How can I solve it?

Try clearing out Temporary Internet Files - use 'Disk cleanup' at Disk properties>Tools or at Internet Options....

I have windows 2000 professional with the same problem. I try to save a jpeg or gif file from the interet and all I get in the drop down box for file type is bitmap. It is really annoying and causing me problems Sad

I can recognize jpg, gif, bmp and other images on my system, but I just cannot save a jpg web image as a jpg image.
