If your PC has a second video connection it's likely to find the video is on that port.

It's a common problem but I have no PC make or model to comment about possible cures.

Sorry.

While interesting I can't use that to see if this machine has a second video port.

Call dell and ask them since model numbers and configuration in this area is unknown. But it sounds like the same old issue.

Can't decode what Dell but Vista and we have a test.

Here's the test. To force the video onto the screen you use when there is a second video port we drop the video acceleration to none for a test. If that works it's the same old issue I know about but without the exact model model of the machine I can't tell what the long term cure is.

Here's the test -> http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/404/kb404885.html

Change it to none, retest and if it's working then go put it back and ask Dell how to make your video connection the PRIMARY connection.

I can't tell you given the detail so far. I'm sorry but this is one of those things where details matter. Even a story such as "I got a new display and hooked it up to the DVI port."

Just look at that machine and if you find more than one video port (VGA, DVI, HDMI, etc.) then it's the same old issue. The video play is on the other port. It's an interesting issue that you see now and then. Mostly when the owner has added a video card or moved which port they used to use. But the story and the model in this discussion was delayed.

how could the video port have moved?

when I can still watch videos on MOST websites? Where do I find where the video ports are?Dell Inspiron 530 64bit E7200

But I'm looking to see if this is that usual issue. As the model number was not shared after many posts I left it to you to do the work in finding out about your machine.

Once we dismiss that old issue you would ask the web site why it doesn't work.

Let's be blunt here. Not all web sites work. It may not be your machine and since we have PCs all over the map on protection software it could be that but look at the details given. I had to guess it was Vista or Windows 7.

Try it on another PC and if it works there, ask yourself what's different.

IE Video Solution
Aug 19, 2011 10:46PM PDT

I had a similar problem with videos on Mediaite. When I tried to play a video, all I would get is a blank screen and a return to the page I was on. The same video would work great on any other browser.

What I did to solve it was start the video and then immediately right-click to get a pop-up for adjusting the settings.

I chose the setting with an icon of a folder on it which brought-up a "Local Storage" setting and a slider below it for adjusting. I adjusted it to 1MB and then the video played with no problems.

Maybe Firefox (or ESPN) worked a bug out of their browser. (Now watch some Apple owner say "Just buy a Mac".
