Have You Tried?
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / January 24, 2009 11:08 AM PST

Open Internet Explorer, then click on "View" in the upper left, select "Encoding", then UNCHECK the "Auto-select" option.

Hope this helps.

Download and install the free Firefox browser from the link below.. Once installed, then visit the same webpage and see if you can print from Firefox.. If so, then you know Internet Explorer is the culprit and you may need to "repair" it.

Hope this helps.

WHICH Internet Explorer?

You have options now.. If you're like many, you may simply choose to do most of your internet surfing with Firefox or another secure browser.

Or if, you want to attempt to "repair" Internet Explorer", you should try reinstalling it from one of the full downloadable installers at the links below. It takes a little preparation before running the reinstall/repair. The downloadable files are large, so you'll need a broadband connection.. Once the file is downloaded to your desktop, burn a copy to a CD for later use if necessary..

Internet Explorer 6 SP2
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/xpsp2.html

Internet Explorer 7
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9AE91EBE-3385-447C-8A30-081805B2F90B&displaylang=en

After that, be sure to make sure the computer is spyware free by downloading, installing, updating, then running the free spyware removal tool from the link below.

SUPERAntispyware Removal Tool

After the scan, restart the computer, then temporarily disable your antivirus program and double click on the Internet Explorer installer and let it run.

Hope this helps.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
