Can't print from MS Office

Apr 23, 2007 3:09PM PDT

I am running Windows XP on both my desk-top and lap-top computers. When I try to print to my HP 812c printer from Word I get only blank pages from the printer.

The documents show up as expect in the print preview, and the correct number of pages are being printed, but nothing shows up on the page. The test page for the printer comes out just fine.

Any ideas?

Re: printer problems

I doubt if this is a MS Office problem. Print preview being correct shows the drivers both Office and the drivers are in a rather good state.

If the same happens on both your desktop and laptop, when using this printer, I suspect the printer, although it prints the testpage correctly.

Things to try to get a better diagnosis:
1. Print from any other program (like IE or Notepad)
2. Install printer (and driver) on yet another PC and see what happens there.

Hope this helps.

Hmm...

What do you mean by ...print to my HP 812c printer ... ?

With the Word document opened, can you just go to File>Print, choose the printer, ...and print ?

may not be a Word issue

I appologize for taking your time. I tried printing form notepad and excell as well and got the same result (the correct number of pages, but blank came out of the printer).

I'll try HP's website to see if I can get any answers.
