Can't print a script - why?

Apr 21, 2005 6:16AM PDT

I have spent several days trying to install a video4linux program, so I can use my pcHDTV card. As an aid, I ran the 'script' command. I could not print the file 'typescript' when I finished.
"lpr typescript" returned the error " unable to print file: client-error-document-format-not-supported".

"less typescript | lpr" returned "typescript may be a binary file. See it anyway?", followed by the error message printed above. I have printed scripts in the past, on a different computer; don't understand why I can't now. I was able to print the text by using 'copy' and 'paste' to KJots, but I would like to know the cause of the error.
