Can't open pdf attachments in Windows Live

My operating system is Windows 7 IE9 and I have never had a problem opening pdf attachments in my email before. Now I get a message saying my security settings won't allow it. I haven't changed any settings on my computer, the only thing I have done is install Norton Internet 2012.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
