Can't open Gmail but no problem elsewhere

by cfarrish / October 29, 2013 3:18 AM PDT

I have an HP Q6600 desktop that runs Windows 7. It is running a little slow in general, but I am having a peculiar problem in Gmail. My cordless Logitech mouse will all of a sudden not want to open emails. I have tried different mice with no different When I first open Gmail, it does fine, but then stops working. Sometimes, if I close & reopen, it works but not always. Otherwise, I have no trouble opening anything. I can use other features like Chat if a window is open.

Any clues? Thanks.

Try a new admin capable user account. Does the issue propagate into the new account?

a user profile for each user. Just because your account on one computer is fine does not mean that an account on another computer with the same username and password might not be corrupt.

Here is a tutorial for creating another ADMINISTRATOR account on your computer:

In the example they created a new local user with limited rights (a standard user) but if you look at Figure 3 you will see where to select to create an administrator account.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
