can't open a zip file

I bought software to download embroidery patterns for my computerized sewing/embroidery machine. The patterns are in zip format. The software has no instructions for downloaded patterns which is ok because I understand how to download them but I can't unzip the compressed file. I've read & read & obviously I'm missing something because nothing is working.

I'm still doing something wrong still doesn't work

I downloaded cam unzip but when i try to unzip or extract it asks me from what file to which i type the file name that i downloaded & it responds by stating there is no such file. When it was downloading it said it was going to temp folder, wasn't there, then i tried sending to another place, wasn't there either.
I have the zipped file on my desktop now so i can't understand why it's saying the file is not there. Looking right at it, watched it download. I don't get this

Time to ask the place that supplies this software.

I don't have any issue with zips, so you may have to ask them what's up.

Are you entering FULL PATH to the file?

Unless you do it is like telling someone "the party is at my house" then wondering why they never showed up (forgot to tell them where your house was).

Instead of typing in the filename try browsing to it or drag and drop on top of the opened Cam unzip program.
