Can't install keyboard driver

by katz78 / July 9, 2004 2:32 AM PDT

I got an email message from HP saying there was an update for my keyboard. This is an XP Home, from Compaq. The link they sent me is here:

I go to the page, but when I click on download, the page takes forever to load, and then it says 'this page cannot be displayed'. I contacted tech support, and they sent me this link:

That does the same thing as the first link. Page won't load, and I get the same message,'page cannot be displayed'.
I called the order center to order the cd for the driver, and the option wasn't listed on the recorded menu, and wasn't able to talk with a live person.
Tech support told me to have Java (from Sun.com) installed, which it is, and to go to tools>options>advanced, and under Microsoft VM,check Java logging enabled, and Java console enabled. I enabled those, rebooted, and I still can't download this driver update. I'm at my wits end, and don't know what else to do. Does anyone know of a workaround or a fix?

I forgot my password, and had to use another name. lol
Yes, the keyboard works all right, but in the first link it said that the driver update had to be downloaded for SP2 to work. I emailed tech support, they couldn't resolve the issue. I then talked with a tech support agent live, and they couldn't help me either. I'm more worried about the SP2 working, if I don't download this driver. Do you or anyone else here have any idea what I should do?
Thanks again.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
