incorrect network settings can limit the ability to share files among workgroup PCs. I just finished working on a Win ME PC that would not network. After exhaustive spyware/virus removal attempts, a backup of files and a clean install of the OS did the trick.
I have windows me on one computer and xp on a second. I can get files from "xp" but when I try with "me" I get an error message: "computer is not accessible. No permission to resource." When I try to view the properties of the same computer I get "You do not have appropriate access rights for this server. For more information contact your network administrator." I am using a linksys router to connect the two computers. I don't think I set up administrator rights on my xp system. Can anyone help??
