Maybe I got the wrong model but does the onboard video work?
As to the slim line shop issue, I agree with that. Shops were getting burned by clients that brought in these troublesome units and then creating no end of trouble for the shops. It's like finding a car repair shop that will work on a Yugo today.
I purchased a "HP Pavilion Slimline s5660f BM430AA Desktop PC - AMD Athlon II X4 840T 2.93GHz, 6GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, DVDRW, Radeon HD 5450, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit" a couple of years ago. One year ago HP replaced my motherboard because of a defect. Now I can't get any video/picture on the screen/monitor. After two days of level 2 HP tech support I was told I needed a new video/graphic card and to take it to a shop for repair since it was no longer under warranty. I took it to two repair shops but neither would work on a slimline! What's with THAT? Therefore, I purchased a new video/graphic card and had a friend install it. STILL no image on the screen/monitor! HELP!!! I did purchase the Diamond Radeon HD 5450 PCI Express GDDR3 1GB Video Graphics card instead of the Diamond Radeon HD 5450 512MB DDR3 Video Graphics card since they were the same price. I thought 1GB would be better than 512MB. Could this minor change be the reason I still have no image on my screen/monitor? HELP!!!
