If this fails, then it may be a new variant or there are other machine issues. I failed to clean one off because the owner had been using registry cleaners which damaged the OS far too deeply.

Hello. I've tried 3 different solutions to be rid of this virus, with no luck. First, the pertinant info: The laptop concerned, is a DELL INSPIRON E1505; Model PP20L and the OS is Windows 7 Ultimate. These are the solutions tried so far: I googled the name of virus and went to "mybleepingcomputer's" solution, using the "HitmanPro Kickstart" (32 bit), that was dwnloaded/installed on a clean usb flash drive. I was very careful to follow the steps listed and got as far as Step 11, where I clicked, "No, I only want to perform a one time scan to check my computer", then clicked "Next". At that point it begins the scan, which it did, but after a little over 4 min, it said there was no internet connection. And of course, nothing was found and the laptop began to shut down again.
I also tried 2 other suggestions from "Malwaretips.com": 1) REMOVE NSA INTERNET SURVEILLANCE PROGRAM w/SYSTEM RESTORE and 2) tried the Hitman Pro Kickstart way a 2nd time. IThis website also lists a 3rd way...Kaspersky Rescue Disk, which I've not tried just yet. Any suggestions?? Thank you in advance!

I don't see detail about the PC but I find WiFi connections to not work so I get wired up. Also the 32 or 64 bit version question may come up. The link I gave showed 64 bit, you wrote 32 so small details may be required.
Worst case? I pull the drive to save the files as the owners rarely backup then we restore the machine to the factory load, restore files and tell them the usual.

PS. The usual is "don't do that again."
