I can't get my photos to open on Windows XP can someone help me please?

keeps freezing when i double click on folder. Or any folder Documents, My computer, Videos etcetera.

I never double click on folders. If I do nothing happens.

And I fail to see what double clicking on a My Videos folder has to do with opening (File>Open) a picture in your favorite picture viewer or photo editor or even browser.
