Can't get links on IE9

I have a new Dell Inspiron 580 with windows 7 home edition (64 bit) with IE 9. If I get an email with a link or I'm on a website and I click on a link...all I get is a new tab with a blank screen. I've tried resetting the default settings on internet options with no avail. Others have had the problem on the Microsoft forum but I can't find any resolutions. Anyone have any ideas ?
I do NOT have the problem with Chrome....
