Can't get around password at BIOS screen

Nov 29, 2003 10:48PM PST

Back when My now ex was moving out. For security measures I put a password in to access the BIOS, At the time It was a good idea. But since then I have forgotten the password and cannot recall my frame of mind and therefore the password.
What I want to do is a system restore with the 8 disc's that I have for my XP. To do this I need access to the BIOS to change the boot device.
Need help getting past the password, Can anyone help????

Some motherboards have a jumper that you can change to clear the CMOS back to the default settings. If you still have the manual, you can look for the information there, otherwise, post your make/model of your motherboard and I'm sure we can find the information you are looking for.
