Can't find the media bar

Jun 6, 2005 10:09AM PDT

I know this sounds dumb. But I am trying to set up a download rather than a streaming product. Instructions say to go to the media bar.

I checked MS Help to find how to get to the media bar. They say use View >Explorer Bar >Media. Only Media isn't there.

Or they say use the Media button on the toolbar. It isn't there.

Is it possible I have deleted the media bar - or do I need to load it specially?

I have IE 6 and XP.

Thanks for your help.

Media Bar

I just checked my IE...and it looks as if I have that option under the "Tools" as you stated. Hmmm... The only additional info I can provide you is that it's the Windows Media Player.

Good Luck!

if you have SP2, then it's not your lucky day. Microsoft removed it - security issues. Read it HERE Scroll down to add-ons Manager.... Now to find out how to add it back.

...do you mean you want to save to the HD a music/video file ? Where did you get the instruction go go to the Media Bar ?

Normally, to save media content, you right click the link and choose ''save link as...'' or ''Save target as...'' or '' Save link target as...'' etc., depending on the browser you are using. Not all media contents can be saved this way. There is usually a seperate link for ''Streaming'' and another for ''Download''. Care to share the URL for that streaming ?
