Can't find task scheduler [XP]

Dec 3, 2003 12:14AM PST

I'm operating Windows XP...for some reason, Task Scheduler seems to have disappeared! I'm getting a 'path can't be found' message, and programs that need it to run aren't running. This has been going on for some time, as I can't seem to figure out 1) what the actual name of the program is...taskscheduler.exe?? 2) where I can get it from to reinstall it and 3) where it should go if I could reinstall it.

I've done Windows updates everytime they come out...I couldn't figure out how to do it from the XP installation CD, either...

PLEASE HELP!!! [thank you]

In my XP Pro system, it's in Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance. I can right click and create a shortcut that's sent to my desktop. The filename is schtask.exe. Not sure it's the same on the Home Edition. Hope this helps.
