can't find system restore shortcut on start menu

by keithb / August 26, 2005 12:06 AM PDT

I can still use system restore; but my problem is I can't seem to locate system restore on the start menu, I know that it used to be there. Is there any way to put the icon back on the start menu?
Running Window XP Home Edition. Help.

Cannot find System Restore...
by Papa Echo / August 26, 2005 12:29 AM PDT

It is at Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools.

If it is missing, you can put the shortcut there:
At C:\Windows\System32\Restore, find rstrui.exe and create a shortcut. Cut and paste the shortcut to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users.WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\system Tools

Click start>control panel>performance and maintenance, and it should be in the upper left corner.
