And you don't need to be on 802.11n at all. And iOS 4.3 isn't available for the 2nd gen iPod Touch, unless you're below that threshold allready and trying to upgrade to 4.2?
What is the downstream of your internet?
Question for anyone who might be able to advise me on downloads of a new iOS update. I have a 2nd generation iPod Touch and have been trying to update to the latest iOS version. But I keep getting messages that the download timed out - after only about 1 or 2 minutes of the download attempt.
I have iTunes running on Win7, and I have a 802.11g network. A few months ago when I tried to do the first update to iOS 4, and had this same issue, I went to the Apple store. The staffer there told me I need to be on 802.11n. I was able to download the update while in the store. But at home, even plugged directly into my cable modem, I have the same download timing out issue. Anyone else familiar with this problem?
