Since it doesn't happen all the time, I'm guessing that it's not a virus. Pleas try opening the Control Panel, then double click on the "Mouse" icon, then click on the "Buttons" tab and UNCHECK the box next to "Turn On Clicklock" if it's checked. Next, click on the "Wheel" tab and slow down the scroll speed. Change the number of lines to 2 or 3 to see if it makes a difference. Click on Apply, then OK.
If the above steps don't cure it, just to make sure, try clicking on either or both of the links below and run the free online scans they provide:
Housecall Online Scanner
Panda Online Scanner
Next, download, install, update, then run the free Ewido program from the link below:
Ewido Security Suite
Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.

I searched the forums all I could but the problem is not easily described so it was hard to even find keywords to try. I was told to try this forum but I really think it is a computer problem, just all the techies out there don't want to admit they don't know what the problem is. When I am trying to go down my list of rules in the rules wizard or choose a category in the category box or select a type of service when adding a service instead of scrolling down to my choice it seems that something is taking over and I have no control as it goes up and down the list really fast. Has anyone ever had this problem. It always happens in Outlook 2000 and may happen in other programs but I haven't noticed it. I don't even know how to describe it well because it obviously is not the cursor but it is like you were taking the mouse and going up and down really fast with the cursor, except I am not doing it and I can't choose what I need to do. This doesn't happen with every selection box. I have switched keyboards and mouses and it doesn't seem to be the problem. I have all the latest virus and spyware stuff. Windows XP Pro Office 2000.
