...the C\Windows\Installer folder. Look for files with .msi file extensions. There will quite a few. You can hover you mouse over the file...or RIGHT click on the file, then choose "Properties" to determine which program it installs/uninstalls.. If you find the correct .msi file for your "Phone Tools" software, then double click on it and uninstall the program..
After it's uninstalled, you can leave it that way or reinstall it, whichever you choose.

I just installed a new modem and the 'Phone Tools' software that came with it. Now I can't remove the program thru control panel or other wise. I now have an 'Install shield' box in the middle of my screen permanently (so far)I have tried to reinstall it, remove it from the c drive etc, It won't remove or re install. I had hoped that I wouldn't have to wipe the drive and reinstall the whole mess.
I am running WXP svcpk2 on a gateway desktop, p4 etc.Hope someone can help!!TIA The new modem is a TRENDNET 56k and works ok but drops connection occasionally.
