Can't delete files - need help

Jan 11, 2012 10:27AM PST

I have an external drive with files from my old work computer (was a PC). I am now working on a Mac. I can access the files on the external hard drive (are Excel, Word and Powerpoint docs) but I am trying to clean out the hard drive and the message "cannot be moved to the trash since it cannot be deleted" keeps popping up. Any ideas?
