Can't delete anything from my external hard drive.

Hi,

Whenever I try to delete something from my external hard drive it just displays a message that it's not possible. I' can't cut and paste either, just copy and paste. The hard drive is a Memorex ultra Traveldrive and I use Mac OSX version 10.6.6.

What is the format of the external drive

Unless it stated specifically that it was Mac formatted, then the odds are that it is formatted FAT.

Could you be a little more specific about the error message. Exactly what does it say?

Could be that will need to reformat this drive which means that all the data will be erased in the process. Make sure you have a good backup before you attempt this.
