The unit with DDR2 looks a little dated. Almost all the units I see today have DDR3 so maybe check around if they updated that model. Both are gamer laptops with all the usual issues of heat and shorter than average laptop life span.
The better video card may give it the edge in gaming but my bet is these two will be so close that one will win a test then the other will win.
So close that I might decide on price alone.

Yo all i'm looking to get my first laptop most likely will use it for gaming although the only games i'll probabley be playing on it is sc2 and diablo 3 when they come out i've narrowed it down to 2 asus ones.

Although i really like the look of the 51vx looks like the only thing going for it is the graphics card is this a no brainer. Looking for something under 1600 and i'm a little shallow i want it to look like a gaming laptop>.< any other recommendations appreciated...
