Can't connect to network

My computer tells me to view availible wireless networks, so I do. Then I select my network and click connect, but then it tells me to view availible networks again.
The network has no security so I can't be forgetting the key. I tried restoring my computer to a time when this didn't happen, but it didn't help, nor did updating the drivers for my wireless card
I have a Nortel Networks e-mobility 802.11b wireless LAN PC card and am using a Compaq Evo N610c notebook with XP home edition installed with sp1.

This never happened before and I haven't recently installed anything that could've messed it up.

Malware can do that. Try the usual cure.

Look up WINSOCKFIX and try that.

Also triple check your router settings and be sure the MIXED network option is enabled. Sadly your post tells so little that I can't share a link about your router if there is one.
