Can't connect to internet anymore

Jan 16, 2009 11:57PM PST

Hi, I have a Sony Vaio Vgn-CS115j that is about 1 month old running Vista. 3 days ago I just moved into an apartment complex where the internet is included free in your rent, so you just plug your ethernet cable into the wall and you are good to go.

Everything was working fine until last night. I was surfing the net and all of a sudden, I just couldn't connect to any pages. When I look at the network icon, it says local only instead of local and internet. Now it is the next morning and it still isn't working. I know the internet isn't down, because I piggybacked on someone's wireless so it is clearly working.

The only thing I can think of is maybe it has something to do with my ps3. I am currently switching the ethernet cord between my laptop and ps3 because I don't have wireless set up yet. Did that somehow make my internet stop working? Any help is greatly appreciated.
