I had Windows XP on my computer and one thing I customized is I changed all the default folder icons in the start menu to the icon of the program that was in the folder, it made finding programs a LOT faster and easier, but just last night XP completely messed up when I installed a program and I figured why not just install Vista since I'm used to Ubuntu and miss having a cleaner interface and visual effects.
So skipping forward a bit, I'm now on Vista, got all my programs reinstalled and went to the folder where the start menu is and started changing a few of the icons (right click the folder - Customize tab - Change Icon... - select the icon I want - click OK - Apply - OK), but they won't change. I even tried going to Windows Explorer and right clicking - select "Run As Administrator" and tried again but still no effect.
Anyone have any ideas?
