Hello klbridge77,
I see that your post was already answered at AVG Forums.
Please continue communication there should you need more assistance.
Thank you
On Tuesday night, I ran the latest Windows update package (I have a Dell Laptop Windows Vista). On Wednesday, I couldn't boot my computer. It would load for about 30 seconds, then freeze up.
I was once able to boot in safe mode and I ran a system restore back to a few months ago. But once it rebooted, I'm still having the same problem. Now when I boot in safe mode, it loads the drivers but the computer would again freeze when AVGIDSva.sys came to load.
I did some research as saw AVG had the same problem last year with the AVGIDSeh.sys file.
Here's the problem: As stated above, I can't boot, even in safe mode. I bought AVG several years ago, but downloaded it from the website so I don't have a disk. I have the registration information still, but it's currently locked up in a saved file in my Outlook that I can't access.
I do back up my computer regularly so I have an external hard drive with my back ups. I'm not incredibily computer literate outside of MS Office, so I'm not sure if that would be useful.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Let me know if you require additional information on my specs. I'll provide the best I can.
I would greatly appreciate any help!
