General discussion

can't activate cd burner

Oct 6, 2010 3:41PM PDT

I have a Dell Dimension 521. When I try to burn pictures on a cd the box says insert disc. when I insert the disc it still says insert disc. I don't know much about computers. Could it be that I have to install something? When I check what is installed it does say cd burner is. It doesn't say dvd burner is installed. Does anyone know what my problem is, and how to correct it?
HELP...I am such a ditz, and sooo totally lost right now?
Oh...Vista Home Premium...sorry.

Have a friend

Try this. Since you are new to PCs have a friend install and demonstrate how to use CDBURNERXP. It's a free app but since you may need hands on help, I suggest a friend install and demo this app.

Try a little research.

If I read the site found with google, the answer is there. That's one search, a click and a read.

I know many don't want to do such research but imagine if everyone didn't work a little at this?
