Can't Acess Data On External Hard Drive

Aug 9, 2007 3:58AM PDT

Alright, here's the problem. I just bough an empty case to put my old 80GB HDD in it to convert it to an External Hard Drive. And I also bought a 320 GBB HDD.

Now everything is set up. Windows is installed on my new HDD and my 80GB external is plugged in.

I have acess to it...BUT cant get acess to my user account (Document And Settings/******) which was my admin acount when this HD was in my PC.

Each time I try to open the folder I get an "Access Denied" message. And when I try to copy it on my new HDD it says its protected (like a floppy disk when you switch the little pin so nobody can write on it)

That makes my External Hard Drive useless as I cant even acess my files to transfer them to my new HDD.

What should I do? Tried everything I thought and still wont let me acess my folder.

Thanks. But I dont have acess to the security tab. its nowhere to be found.

Do I have to boot in safe mod? because I tried to and im either plain stupid or just sucks but it wont let me. I'm hitting F8 during startup, i have to choose what I boot from and what I get is either to put something in the drive i decided to boot from or it just normally boot to standart mod.
