Can't access my Youtube playlist

Jul 24, 2010 7:35AM PDT

I just bought my second Samsung blu-ray and love Netflix and youtube.

Just one problem: you can log into your youtube account, but can't access your playlist, so you are reduces to rebuilding the entire playlist using that cumbersome keypad.

Don't get the logic of loging in, if you can't use your established playlists.

Am I doing something wrong?

One more question: is there any way of using a keyboard to input?

Thanks for any help you can supply.

halisak,

Unfortunately, personal playlists aren't available on the YouTube widget. They designed certain features for the widget, and I can't speak to why certain features were included or left out - they own and control the widget.

That said, I'll be happy to pass feedback to them regarding the issue.

There isn't a way to connect a keyboard to the TV. Some users have talked about an iPhone app that acts as a keyboard for the TV, but I don't have further information on that. That's the only exception that I'm aware of where a keyboard interface might work.

By "They" do you mean Youtube owns the widget?

FWIW, the youtube app on the Sony PS3 or any Sony bluray players show your playlists when you are logged in.

Any idea when this might get fixed on Samsung TVs/bluray players?

vdevar1,

Youtube owns and designs the functionality of their widget.

I don't have any updates, but I'll be happy to send it up. Unfortunately, I don't have contact with them directly, but if I get a response, I'll be happy to post it here.

No access to your Favorites in Youtube?
Nov 5, 2010 3:45PM PDT

Hello,
I've noticed that this seems to be a very limited version of youtube.

Why don't i have access to as many videos as my computer?

I created a youtube account to add Music Videos to my Favorites because the widget has a favorites bar. However, the favorites bar is not populated with the favorites associated with that logged in account.... or any of the videos I find on my computer.

I thought I could find a way around the search limit. I feel like Youtube created an unnecessary boundary for samsung patrons.

btbammet4l,

I've been able to find most of the videos that I've searched for, although I've had to search for them.

YouTube managers the features and functions. That said, I'll be happy to pass your comments to the appropriate department. Unfortunately, that's the best I can do at the moment.
