Can't access my network. . .

Aug 11, 2004 8:52AM PDT

What have I missed?

I have two XP Home machines, and a W98SE machine connected through a D-link router. Internet access is perfect on all machines. I have set up my network, set a shared folder on each HD, set up File and Printer Sharing. I can click on My Network Places and I can see all machines by their names. I can open Explorer, My Network Places, Entire Network, Microsoft Windows Network, Home (my network name), and all machines are listed. But when I click on one of the other PCs, I get a popup that says the PC is not accessible. "You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found."

What have I missed?

Can I configure ZA to allow sharing without disabling it each time?

ZA has been known to act strange.
in any event you do not need a frieall because of the router.
that said, if you want a software firewall as well try Kero Personal Firewall version 2.1.5
perfect for the home user.

But I like the ZA function of alerting when something tries to access the net. It's kind's like insurance against something sneaking in and then wanting to get out. ZA will notice.

Are there no settings that I can make to allow my own network access to my PCs?

Changed the Internet Zone Security to Medium.
