Lelin, Follow the instructions under "I use WinDoctor" at the link below.
Norton WinDoctor returned a list of "Missing files" which it was unable to repair. One referred to MSMSGR.EXE, and ten others referred to various ".exe" files in "Microsoft.NET\Framework\v.2.0.50727\". The common factor in all 11 instances is "cannot access a necessary file, 'msvcr80.dll'". As far as I can tell, my Messenger program and other Microsoft programs in general (Windows XP Pro SP2, IE 6, etc.) all seem to working OK. Moreover, when I did a search for "msvcr80.dll" I located two instances of it on my computer, both in the C:\WINDOWS\WinSxS\ folder. Can anyone shed light on this? Should I try to fix this? If so, how can I go about it?
