Can't access live messenger when configuring another route

I access the internet via my wireless lan, and my internal netowrk thru' another wired LAN. When I configure a route(in XP) 10.x.x.x to access the internal netowrk(with higher metric than wireless), my live messenger will then be disconnected.

I found the ip address of WLM is 60.x.x.x and there shouldn't be any conflict.

Does anybody know why and how to work around this?
