Uninstalling Roxio can cause loss of access. Here's a Google on this issue -> http://www.google.com/search?q=code+31+roxio+uninstall There may be other software such as a DVD copier.
Another possibility is that one or both of the drives failed. Not uncommon and you should test each drive by having just one drive in the machine at a time.
Bob
Yesterday I was fine. Today my cd-r and cd-rw prompt for a disc even though there's one in.
I've tried the Device Manager (driver, etc) Ran the Autoplay Wizard from Microsoft. Poked around in the Registry and couldn't see anything that stood out as unusual. Also tried System Restore. Alas! No success.
Could be internal, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this same sort of problem (Note - I've been playing a lot with Themes recently and have tested a variety of software. I wonder if this could be the cause?)
Anyway, if you have some thoughts on this I'm all ears.
Thanks.
