Question

can someone tell me whats wrong with my laptop?

I have an alienware laptop that is giving me a new problem, the system will not remain shut down unless I remove the power supply completely, and the monitor will not display anything. as I can not seem to even get to a command prompt I can only ask for help. someone please tell me what I can do here.

What happens when you remove the battery? Assuming you have done the standard batt. removal reinstall and you are having the same issue, I'd get it looked at.

It's difficult to say without having the unit to inspect, as I've found that some people have very different/incorrect ways of describing issues. However, the issues describe are suggestive of a failure with the motherboard, which usually means it's time for a new laptop once you compare the repair costs to a new unit.
